In one of the families dusty vaults sits a photograph of a four year old Roger. Curly blonde hair with the looks of angel in a one piece knitted swim suit complete with bib and braces, posing, arms outstretched against a rock. The picture was taken on our first family holiday in 1948. The picture was always referred to as “The Skeleton.”
He was an adorable frail little lad that appealed to the mothering instincts all around. A comment from his aunty Hilda, “Oh Rene, you will have to take care of him!”
Over the years despite a number of unexpected health scares he grew strong. Never obese, a wiry lean man with a penchant for helping others.
He is loved, and he will be missed.
I will always remember that little fellow, my brother Roger.
Sleep quietly in peace.
